Danny Robert Crichton, born on October 22, 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at his home in Skidmore, Texas, on November 1, 2025. He was 78.
Danny pursued higher education earning a bachelor's degree in psychology, which greatly enriched his understanding of others and informed his caring approach to his personal and professional relationships. His career as foreman in the construction industry was marked by a commitment to excellence and a desire for his dedication to both his work and his family.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert Crichton and Beulah Emily (Carpenter) Crichton, as well as a brother, John Crichton.
On July 10, 1996, Danny married the love of his life, Modesta Alaniz Hernandez. He was a father to nine sons, John Crichton of Lincoln, Nebraska, Lane Crichton and Danny Chrichton Jr., both of Oklahoma, Leon Crichton of Denver, Colorado, Kevin Leafty of Lincoln, Nebraska, Lawe Crichton, Lee (Krisha) Hernandez of Oklahoma and Tomy Dean Crichton and Warren Robert Crichton, both of Skidmore; and six daughters, Jody Crichton of Maryland, Tina Crichton and Amber Leafty, both of Lincoln, Nebraska, Cuandalsa Crichton and Danika Crichton, both of Oklahoma, and Elisa Rincon of Beeville. Danny took immense pride in his numerous grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Danny is also survived by his wife of 29 years, Modesta Hernandez; four sisters, Dona Crichton of Tennessee, Susan Leafty of Skidmore, Cindy Leafty of Kansas, and Kathryn Wormring of Nebraska; and his brother, Wayne Smith of Skidmore. Danny also leaves behind brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, including Rachel Showalter (Ashley Williams), Benjamin (Angelica) Alaniz, Sam (Angie) Alaniz, Juan Alaniz, Ruben Garza, Melba (Todd) Henson and Juanita Huerta; as well as nieces and a nephew, Melissa (Jose) Rosales, Elisa (Juan) Rincon and Jose Manuel Alaniz, who will carry his memory with them.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville, followed by the funeral service at 12 o’clock officiated by Chaplain Bryan Gutierrez.
