Danny Dunn

GREENVILLE, WV – Danny Kay Dunn, age 79, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born April 21, 1946, in Wikel, WV, he was the son of the late John Cramer and Leona Comer Dunn.

Danny was a member of the Old Baptist Church in Wikel, WV. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and a member of the VFW Post 6000 in Narrows, VA, the Rowe-Jones American Legion Post 145 in Peterstown, WV, and the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Chapter #1108 in Union, WV. He worked as a crew leader for the WV Department of Highways for many years. He enjoyed camping and loved to go hunting with his family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Dunn.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Dottie Thomas Dunn; two sons, Pat Dunn and wife Laurie of Daleville, VA, and Les Dunn and wife Angie of Floyd, VA; one daughter, Sally Murray and husband Gary of Bluefield, WV; eight grandchildren, Alex, Andrew (Kaitlyn), Brady, Ashley, Kelsey (Josh), Kerrigan, Kenley, and Brooklyn; nine great grandchildren, and one on the way; and one sister, Patty Cole and husband Bobby of Wikel, WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be made in to the VVA Chapter #1108 (PO Box 27, Greenville, WV 24945-0027).

Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Tyler-Mann Cemetery in Greenville, WV, with Pastor Terry Utterback officiating. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
