Danny Lynn Egner

Funeral services for Dan Egner will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the Church of God with Pastor Sheryl White officiating. Burial will follow in the Short Spring Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. There will be a visitation with family present from 4-6:00 p.m. Monday, January 12.

Danny Lynn, son of Verl Damer and Marjorie Vale (Brower) Egner, was born March 28, 1945, at Alva and passed away peacefully surrounded by his family January 08, 2026, at his home in Alva at the age of 80 years, 9 months, and 11 days.

Dan was raised in the Dacoma area where he graduated from Dacoma High School in 1963 and attended a year at Northwestern Oklahoma State College. He proudly served in the United States Army as a medic from 1966 to 1968. On October 11, 1969, he was united in marriage to Neva Sue Ryel at Driftwood. They made their home in Dacoma where they raised their children: Travis and Bridgette. In 2000, they moved from the farm to Alva where they have remained.

He attended the Alva Church of God for many years. Dan loved the game of golf and eventually began a club repair for many of the local golfers. He enjoyed woodworking and loved spending time with his grandchildren, attending as many activities and sporting events as he could.

Besides his parents, Verl and Marjorie, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Neva; his son, Travis Egner; and his brother, Kerry Egner.

Dan is survived by his daughter, Bridgette Myers and her husband, Jay, of Dacoma; his brother, Nick Egner of Guthrie; his grandchildren, Carli Myers and Colin Myers, both of Dacoma, and Daxton Egner and Paisley Egner, both of Alva; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Alva Golf and Country Club or the Alva Church of God.
