Danny Ray Elliott was born was born on June 6, 1961 to Leeta (Tompkins) & R.C. Elliott in
Wynnewood, Oklahoma. He grew up and lived his life in Wynnewood, graduating from Wynnewood High School. He went to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 25, 2026 in
Norman, Oklahoma at 64 years of age.
In January of 2023, Danny placed his faith in Jesus Christ and accepted him as his Lord and Savior.
Danny was someone who truly loved being around people and animals. From a young age, his heart was especially drawn to animals, and that passion stayed with him throughout his life. He spent countless hours helping others discover and grow their own love for pigs, sharing his knowledge generously and finding joy in connecting people with animals he cared so deeply about.
He loved team roping earlier in life because he enjoyed interaction with other ropers.
Danny's love for animals and people alike leaves a lasting legacy; one of kindness, dedication and a heart that cared deeply.
Among all the animals Danny loved, his horse Julie, their bond was a meaningful one. His dog Bacardi, who was a constant companion and loyal friend, rarely left his side. They both had a special place in his heart and were a source of comfort and companionship to him.
His knowledge of animals was evident on a trip to Wyoming, where Danny amazed his nephew Chris Evans with his extensive knowledge of horse bloodlines and then later in life his knowledge of swine genetics.
Danny was known for being stubborn at times, but those who knew him best understood that beneath that stubborn streak was a genuinely good heart. He loved talking with people, striking up conversations, and being in the company of others. His presence, stories and passion will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Danny held various jobs, including working as a truck driver and spending many years working with pigs on farms, a role that perfectly matched his lifelong passion for animals. He took pride in his work and found purpose in hands-on labor and caring for animals.
Danny joined the Oklahoma Army National Guard, serving with the 45th Infantry, 160th Field Artillery Battalion in 1978 to 1983 as a Cannon Crewman.
Danny is survived by his daughter Lisa Elliott of Pauls Valley, sons Chessley Elliott of Wyoming, Shelby Elliott (Shelby) of Oklahoma City and grandchildren Jensen & Jentre Kraft.
