Danny Floyd Huntsman

Danny Floyd Huntsman, 71, of Waverly, Kansas, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at his home.

He was born July 21, 1954, at Placerville, CA, the son of Dick Floyd and Rhoda Pauline (Nicholson) Huntsman. He grew up in California and after graduating from high school he worked fighting wildfires and at packing plants. He then began following construction and was in Mississippi before moving to Kansas to work on the construction of the Wolf Creek Generating Station. It was during this time that he met Debra Beth Foster (Hegwald) and they were married on March 16, 1979, at Burlington, KS. In 1985 they opened Huntsman Service on Old Highway 50 west of Waverly. They operated the service for 30 years before Danny retired in 2015.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Rhoda.

He leaves Debbie, his wife of more than 46 years; his children, David Foster (Karen), Waverly, Darci Schroeder (Patrick), Salina, KS, and Darin Huntsman, Reading, KS; 5 grandchildren, Megan Pyle (Drew), Damian Foster, Dustin Foster, Joni Schroeder, and Tanner Schroeder; a great-granddaughter, Mallory Pyle; many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, December 5, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Inurnment will follow in Waverly Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends from 9:30 A.M. Friday until service time at the funeral home.

Following the graveside service everyone is invited to the Waverly Community Building for lunch and fellowship.
