Danny "Dan" Edward Lewis, 68, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. He was born in Richmond, Virginia to the late Romeo Edward Lewis and Gracie Francisco Lewis Harper.
Dan led a fulfilling life and leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew him. He was a member of the Finish Strong Cycling Team and actively participated in the Central Carolina Senior Golf Tour. Dan served his country proudly as a US Army Special Forces veteran, having served with the renowned 82nd Airborne Division.
In his leisure time, Dan found joy in pursuing his passions for golfing, hunting, kayaking, and immersing himself in the beauty of the outdoors. Dan’s most cherished moments were those spent with the love of his life, Denise, simply living life side by side holding each other, dancing together, and loving each other more and more deeply every step of the way. He deeply loved his family and friends, and treasured the time spent together, creating lasting bonds and endless memories that will be forever held dear.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Denise Margaret Lewis, daughters, Jessica Goodrow of Shannon, NC, Kimberly Taylor of Charlotte, NC, and Holly Taylor (Marel Hernandez) of Summerville, SC; and six grandchildren, Jospeh, Abby, Cameron, Kennedy, Colton, and Greyson.
He was preceded in death by his parents listed above, and his stepfather, Edward Harper.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Kiser Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, in the chapel of Kiser Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at the Lewis Home, 3161 Hwy 381 South, Clio, SC 29525.
Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted to serve the Lewis Family in their time of grief.
