Danny "Dan" Lee Mummert, 81, of Dixon, IL, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Dixon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. He retired from Raynor Garage Door in Dixon, working 15+ years as a forklift driver.
Dan was born on June 4, 1944, in Aurelia, IA, the son of Dale and Mildred (Allen) Mummert. He married Leila (Coyle) Mummert on March 10, 2006. In his younger years, Dan enjoyed skiing (and was pretty good at it, too). He also enjoyed doing things around the house, and especially loved spending time with his beloved dogs during his retirement.
Dan is survived by his wife, Leila Mummert of Dixon; son, Mark (Jenny) Mummert of MT; daughter, Shelley (Chris) Ballantyne of IA; five grandchildren, Kayla (Chris) Smith, Heather (Andrew) Drummond, Colton (Kelsey) Ballantyne, Haley Mummert, Sara Mummert; eight great-grandchildren, Owen, Emma, and Liam Smith, Madison, Walker, and Lane Drummond, and Blythe and Wynn Ballantyne; one sister, Diane; and four step-children, Tommy, Kelli, James, Craig.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no services, per Dan's wishes. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
