DANNY ORTIZ Obituary
December 25, 1942 - May 22, 2025
Danny Ortiz, age 82, of Santa Fe, NM, passed away peacefully in the presence of his daughters. He was reunited in heaven with his daughter, Debbie; his parents, Dan and Antonia "Tonie"; his brother, Louie; and his baby sister, Sally.
He is survived by his children: Daniel Ortiz, Donna Delgado (Robert), and Darla Nore (Erik); his grandchildren: Jessie Gentry (Steve), Nina Gardner (Dave), Robbie Delgado (Liz), Dylan Delgado, and Olivia Nore; and his great-grandchildren: Liam, Mia, and Owen Gentry; Gabby, Charlotte, and Will Gardner; Alyssa, Ryan, Aliyah, Ava, Elijah, Ella, and Arlo Delgado; Vicente Kline; and twins, Aiden and Leo Delgado. Also surviving him is Beatrice C. Ortiz, the mother of his children.
Danny had a rich and varied life, working in abstract title services, as County Clerk, and with the State Corporation Commission. Outside of work, he brought joy to countless celebrations as a mariachi trumpet player and honored the service of others by playing "Taps" at veterans' funerals.
He loved fishing, gardening, and landscaping, and was known for his chile, enchiladas, tamales, and cakes. Deeply rooted in his community, Danny was well known and dearly loved - and he will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on June 5, 2025, at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church. A Rosary will be held at 10:00AM, followed by a Mass at 10:30AM, with a reception afterward.

I knew the Ortiz family well. Danny Junior has been a friend of mine since the third grade. I am deeply sorry for your loss. It´s hard to find words to console the brokenhearted, but, I hope you find peace and comfort in God`s grace. May the peace of the Lord be with you always.

My deepest condolences to the family of Danny Ortiz........Debbie and I graduated from Garcia Street kindergarten way back when, she was my first realization of someone going to heaven........I will not ever forget. I am saddened to hear about Danny, happy to know he is, once again with his daughter. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

Bea, So sorry to hear of Danny's passing. I often thought of him . He was a primo of mine of relatives of long ago. So we always saluted each other as prima/primo.May he rest in peace. He was so talented and he was loved by so many.

I worked with Danny as County Manager when he was the County Clerk. I admired his trumpet playing, he was a great Mariachi! I can still hear Danny and his Mariachi band playing "La Negra". Now he is entertaining all of his friends in Heaven.

I did not know Danny or his family but I heard him play his magical trumpet at many celebrations. He was amazing. The world is at a loss for his special talent. Many blessings to the Ortiz family and may are dear Lord coming Grant you strength.
