Danny Parker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home and Cemetery on Jan. 14, 2026.
Mr. Danny Edward Parker, 68, went home to be with the Lord on January 6, 2026, at his home in Rainbow City, Alabama. Danny passed peacefully with his wife, Teresa, by his side. Born in Gadsden, Alabama, on October 15, 1957, to Charles E. Parker and Elsie E. Parker, Danny was a graduate of Glencoe High School and attended Gadsden State Community College for two years. Danny retired from Interstate Batteries in Rainbow City, Alabama, after a career as a warehouse manager. He was musically gifted and enjoyed playing guitar and passed his musical talents on to his son and grandsons. Danny loved his family fiercely, and with his entire being. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a huge fan of all things Crimson Tide. Most importantly, he had a personal relationship with Jesus, evidenced by his humble demeanor and kindness to all. Danny is survived by his wife of 48 years, Teresa Parker; two children, Diane (Thomas) Lawless and Joshua (Brandi) Parker; five grandchildren, Isaiah (Kenzie) Lawless, Bradley Parker, John Samuel Parker, Keira Lawless, and Ethan Parker; one great grandson, Terry Lawless. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elsie Parker; brother, Richard Parker; sister, Carolyn Erwin. The Parker Family would like to thank Dr. Warren, Dr. Higgins, and the MICU/SICU staff of Gadsden Regional for the care provided for Danny in the last three weeks of his life. Additionally, the family would like to thank ACG (Agape Care Group) Hospice of Rainbow City, AL, for fulfilling Danny's final wishes to be home and at peace, surrounded by his family in his time left on this earth. Charity, Jaime, Ashley, and Hollie of ACG Hospice were all instrumental in getting Danny home quickly and as smoothly as possible- you all will never know how much this meant to Danny and family. A special thanks to Mollie of ACG Hospice, for her kindness, expertise, and the tender care provided for Danny when he arrived home. Last, but not least, the family would like to thank Matt Rose for stepping in to assist in honoring Danny's memory. Arrangements are entrusted to Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home, Gadsden, Alabama. A memorial service to celebrate Danny's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home.
