Danny Jerry Pena Jr., a son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away in his home in McCook, NE on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the age of 45.
Danny was born on July 12, 1979, in Los Angeles, CA to parents Danny J. Pena, Sr. and Barbara L. Hughes. Danny grew up in Whitter, CA and attended Whittier High School. Danny lived in Whittier until moving to McCook in 2005. Danny worked as a crew member at Taste of Texas in McCook, Ne for 13 plus years.
In his free time, Danny enjoyed playing with his loyal dog Sampson, cherished visiting with his grandmother, and playing online video games with nieces, nephews, and friends.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Anthony Hughes.
Those left to celebrate Danny’s life are his grandmother, Joan Pratti of Whittier, CA; uncle, Jesse Pratti of Whittier, CA; brothers, Richard Reynolds (Sam) of Beatrice, NE and Robert (April) Guess of Cambridge, NE; sister, Christina Davis of Gibbon, NE; nieces and nephews, Robert (Vallie) Guess, Sarah (Lane) Kuper, Nathan Guess, “Day Day” Destiny Guess, Hadleigh Davis, and Treyvon Davis; and loving dog, Sampson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to help the Pena Family differ funeral expenses, c/o Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, PO Box 476, McCook, NE 69001.
There will be a celebration of life for Danny on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Community Building in Cambridge, Ne at 3:00 – 6:00PM.
