Danny Lee Pifer, 73, passed away on September 14, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. Danny was born on June 27, 1952, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Frank L. and Betty J. (Benbrook) Pifer.

Danny graduated from Buhler High School in 1972. After graduating he was one of the last Reno County residents to be drafted into the Unites States Army in 1972. Danny was honorably discharged in April 1974. He was a dedicated employee of Dillons Bakery for 32 years – with the majority of those years working as a receiving clerk. After retiring from the bakery, he became Grandpa Daycare for his grandchildren. On May 27, 1972, Danny married Debra Wisby in Hutchinson. They were married for 53 years. He was a member of the Bakery and Confectionery Union. Danny loved spending time with his family, nieces and nephews, especially his children and grandchildren. As a family they enjoyed many family vacations, but he had a love for the Colorado mountains and trips to the casino with his family. Danny also enjoyed his yearly trips to Las Vegas and monthly luncheons with his retiree friends.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Pifer.

Danny is survived by his wife, Debra; a son, Jason L. Pifer; daughter, Heather L. (Dylan Thomas) Pifer; sister, Sherry (Dawayne) Storm; brothers, Bobby Pifer, Jerry Pifer, Terry Pifer and Kenny Pifer; and grandchildren, Davin L. Pifer, Preston J. Rothe and Emmett J. Rothe.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, KS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS. Memorials may be given to the Hospice and Home Care of Reno County and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
