Danny Clay Powell, 73, lived a fulfilling life in the Andalusia, Alabama area before relocating to Springville, AL in 2020. A dedicated member of Southside Baptist Church, Danny passed away unexpectedly in Birmingham, AL, on Monday, March 31, 2025. His life was marked by his deep love for his family and his passionate devotion to Jesus Christ, his Lord.
Graveside services for Mr. Powell will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery, with Foreman Funeral Home directing and Bro. Bill Pritchett officiating. The family will receive friends at Foreman Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, John Clay Powell and Nan Powell; his brother, Mark Powell; and his aunt, Mary Wishum.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Powell; his children, Peige Josey (Terry) and Nesha Jones (Mark); his grandsons, Brannon (Emma) Jones and Nolan (Lindsey) Jones; his siblings, Lenora Scheffer, Tom (Mary) Powell, and Mary (Jeff) Cross; his nieces and nephews, Josh Scheffer, Maile Floyd, Hannah Cross, Heather (Justin) McDaniel, and Heidi (Brandon) Tankersley; as well as a great-nephew and great-niece.
