George Gorum

George Gorum 85, of Andalusia, Alabama, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on January 31, 2026 .

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM Tuesday, February 3rd at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin Tuesday at 2:30 at Foreman Funeral Home. Brother Larry Stewart will officiate the service.

George devoted many years of his life to working at the local Coca -Cola Plant in Andalusia , where he later retired. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dedication-but those who knew him best knew something else for sure: George loved a good, cold Coca-Cola, and it was rare to see him without one close by.

When he wasn't working, George could most often be found at his hunting camp-his happy place-where he enjoyed the quiet of the outdoors or watching Alabama Football.

Above all else, George loved his family deeply. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly his babies, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with them.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Edson Gorum; his daughter, Cookie Edgar, and son-in-law Jason Edgar; his grandchildren, Tabitha Cross and her husband Taylor Cross, and Kayla Daniel; his great-grandchildren, Jayce Hyde and Connor Cross; and his brother-in-law, Donnie Carter and sister Margie and Roger Palmer.

George will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of the outdoors, his fondness for a cold Coca-Cola, and most of all, the unwavering love he had for his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Carter, Jason Edgar, Taylor Cross, Mike Merritt, Jeff McDaniel, and Mark Chavers.
