Mr. Danny Leon Reynolds, 59, of Cromer Road, Elberton, husband of 29 years to Kimberly Dawn Scarborough Reynolds, died on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at his residence.
Affectionately known as “Slow Poke”, Danny was born in Elberton on January 13, 1964, the second of three children of Johnnie Lois Wilder Reynolds and the late Dallas Gerald Reynolds. He was a truck driver for most of his life and was presently working at Bubba Foods.
Danny was a sentimental guy who loved his family and friends dearly. He took everything to heart and expected the same of everyone else. He was happiest while riding motorcycles, washing and shining his big rigs, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Kim, of Elberton; mother, Lois, of Elberton; children: Jennifer Reynolds and Josh Roscoe of Laurens, SC, Miranda Reynolds and Jesse Davis of Elberton, and Blake Reynolds of Elberton; and siblings: Debra Burden of Elberton and Donald Reynolds of Elberton. He was proudly “Papa Poke” to his three grandchildren: Anastasia, Silas, and Dallas.
The family is at the residence of Kim Reynolds, 1508 Washington Highway, Elberton, and will receive friends on Thursday, September 21, from 1:00-1:45p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.
Funeral services celebrating Danny’s life will be held on Thursday, September 21, at 2:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Gary Scarborough, Brian Scarborough, Brad Burton, Josh Fowler, Richard Waters, and Jimmy “Hog Head” Adams honored as pallbearers.
Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in his memory to the Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2335 Nickville Road, Dewy Rose, GA 30634.
