DYER CHAPEL- Funeral services for Mr. Danny Wayne Roberts, age 72 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dyer Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Bro. Bob Bishop and Albert Armitage will officiate.
His family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Danny Roberts, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Friday September 12, 2025, at his residence. Born on January 11, 1953, in Cookeville, Danny lived a life filled with adventure, kindness, and love. He was a proud 1972 graduate of Cookeville High School and dedicated many years of his life to working in retail, where he became known as a jack of all trades. His diverse skills and willingness to lend a helping hand made him a cherished member of the community.
Danny is fondly remembered for his adventurous spirit and his generous heart. He had a unique way of bringing joy to those around him, most notably through his love for Christmas. Each year, Danny would don the red suit of Santa Claus, spreading holiday cheer and creating magical memories for children and families alike. This touch of whimsy perfectly encapsulated his personality-kind, loving, caring, and benevolent.
He found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren, nurturing their dreams with the same unwavering support he offered throughout his life. Danny had a passion for woodworking and farming, pursuits that filled his days with creativity and a connection to the earth.
Danny’s faith was a cornerstone of his life, as he was a devoted member of Holladay Church of Christ. His kindness extended beyond his immediate family, touching many lives with his caring nature and generous spirit.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angela Roberts, with whom he shared nine cherished years. Danny is also survived by his son, Dustin Roberts; his daughter and son-in-law, Deann and Clayton Peek; and his beloved grandchildren, Alli Beth Roberts, Parker Roberts, Thomas Peek, Emmie Peek, and Hunter Peek.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Ladelle Roberts, and his stepmother, Betty Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his late wife of 36 years, Diana Faye Whiteaker Roberts.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
