Danny was born in North Carolina to John and Maxine, relocating to the Augusta area with his father’s last assignment to Ft. Gordon, where he ultimately retired from his career in the U.S. Army .
Danny served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Davisville, RI, where he met and married Linda, who he shared a loving 54-year marriage with. He deployed to Vietnam in 1969, where his unit was responsible for building and maintaining key infrastructure as part of Fleet Marine Force Combat Operations. He served in many areas of the local GA Carolina Council scouting organization over the years, his favorite of which was serving as the scoutmaster for Troop 16 in Martinez, where he enjoyed sharing his young at heart outlook on life. Danny also enjoyed riding motorcycles as often as he could, frequently doing organized rides for veteran causes, such as Rolling Thunder on the national mall to bring awareness to POW/MIA each Memorial Day. Danny started to attend Navy reunions to reconnect with his friends he served with, sharing their passion to support combat veteran causes.
