Obituary published on Legacy.com by Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill on Oct. 1, 2025.
Danuta Winiarski, 76 of Berlin, beloved wife of the late Mieczyslaw Winiarski, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 at the Hospital of Central CT. Born in Szczebrzeszyn, Poland, daughter of the late Wladyslaw and Apolonia (Rokosz) Cwik, she was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in New Britain.
Danuta came from Poland in 1988, initially settling in Meriden CT where she spent all of her work career in the U.S. as a machine operator at Southwick & Meister, Inc., relocated to New Britain in the late 90s and in the last year to Berlin.
Danuta loved gardening, nature, traveling, shopping, and most of all people, especially those less fortunate that she could help. To her, family was most important and she was most happy surrounded by her children and grandchildren. On her travels, Danuta visited Poland numerous times to reconnect with her roots, extended family, and friends. She also enjoyed traveling to various church pilgrimage sites, as well as national parks, historic and cultural sites.
She will be remembered for her kindness, love, warmth, and generosity. A mother to her two sons but a mother figure to many more and she will be missed by many.
A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her two sons: Andrew and his wife Beata Winiarski, Aleksander and his wife Renata Winiarski; her grandchildren: Nicole Winiarski-Pham and her husband Peter Pham, Marcus, Alexandra, Tomas and Anna Winiarski, and extended family in the US and Poland. Danuta was pre deceased by her beloved husband Mieczyslaw in 2017.
