Daokong Xia

Daokong Xia (aka Yeye age 96, of Johns Creek, Georgia, peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at his home in Johns Creek surrounded by his loving family.
Celebration of Life services for Mr. Xia will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Mr. Xia was born in the Lunar calendar year of the Dragon on January 8, 1928 in Yun county, Shiyan, Hubei, China, to the late Liushi and the late Tianqing Xia. Mr. Xia survived the Japanese invasion of China, the Chinese civil war in the 1930s and 1940s, the anti-rightist movement in the 1950s, and the Cultural Revolution in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1949, he moved to the city of Ankang in Shaanxi province, where he worked and raised his family until 1990 when he and his wife Yirong moved to the United States to join his eldest son's family.
Mr. Xia was a farmer, a soldier, a revolutionary, a builder, and an internal revenue professional over the years. But above all, Mr. Xia was a devoted family man to his wife Yirong, to whom he was married for more than 70 years, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Xia lived abundantly and loved life. He particularly enjoyed fishing, gardening, Chinese calligraphy, practicing English, winning mahjong against his in-laws and his sons, spending time with family and friends, and cooking (which he was very good at - especially his signature hand-pulled noodles aka and sesame bing aka
He is survived by his beloved wife Yirong; his cherished sons and daughters-in-law, Tingkang and Jessie, Tingzhao and Zhiling, Tinghan and Fan; cherished daughter and son-in-law, Yibing and Xuejun; beloved grandchildren, Chu and his wife Yingxue, Eleanor and her husband Arya, Mona and her husband David, Andy, Lisa and her husband Sam, Edmund and Robert; beloved great-grand-daughter Michelle; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
