Daphne Jeanette Brown Karam

GASTONIA, NC - Daphne Jeanette Brown Karam, age 81, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at Belaire Health Care Center in Gastonia, North Carolina. Daphne was born on April 18, 1944, in Rich Square, North Carolina, to her beloved parents, Ezra Whitley Brown and Flossie Harrell Brown.
A diligent and dedicated worker throughout her life, Daphne's career began as a machinist at the local sewing factory before she established her own cleaning business. Her commitment to hard work and her unwavering spirit were evident in all she undertook. Above all, she was a loving mother to her children, who were the center of her world. May Daphne Jeanette Brown Karam rest in eternal peace, forever in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her.
Daphne is fondly remembered and deeply missed by her surviving family members, including her sons, Alan Karam and his wife Anne of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and Matt Karam of Gastonia, North Carolina. She also leaves behind her cherished nephew, David Brown and his wife Rhonda of Conway, North Carolina.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Ann Karam; her son, Michael Karam; her brother, Roy Brown; and her nephew, Roy Brown Jr.
A celebration of Daphne's life and legacy will be held with a funeral service on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Rich Square, North Carolina. Reverend David Hirsch will officiate the service, honoring her memory with dignity and respect.
