SANTA FE – Daphne Wynn Spence passed away at the age of 62 on November 4, 2024, in Santa Fe.
Born August 25, 1962, in Galveston, Daphne had a light-hearted spirit that brought joy to everyone she met. Always smiling and full of laughter, she embraced life with open arms and a heart full of kindness. A true lover of the outdoors, Daphne found peace on the water and joy in the simple pleasures of boating, fishing, barbequing and camping under the stars. Country music was the soundtrack of her life, and the melodies of Gary Stewart brought her joy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Brooks; mother and stepfather, Sandra (Pope) and Eddie Wright.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Barry Spence; sons, Chad Vincent Dudley, III and wife, Sam, Brandon Dudley and wife, Nicole; brother, Daryl Brooks and wife, Nell; sisters, Karla Bussey and husband, Jimmy, Kim Waldrup and husband, Jonny; mother-in-law, Minnie Kylberg; brother, Andy Kylberg and wife, Rita; sister-in-law Linda Sellers and husband, Cecil; grandchildren, Dawsyn, Cooper, Adian, Gaven, Chase, Wyatt, Hunter, Bishop; great grandchildren, Reese and Weston; nephews, Justin Brooks, Cody Palmer, Dalton Waldrup; niece, Megan Jones; fur babies, Cookie and Sassy.
A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, Texas, with Mr. Dennis Jolly officiating.
