Darcus “Dari” Selcer

Darcus "Dari" Jewel Selcer, age 53, of Hixson, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Dari was a woman of deep faith, a servant's heart, and a quiet strength that touched many lives. She was a devoted member of First Lutheran Church, where her faith guided her daily life and the way she cared for others. Dari had a lifelong passion for nurturing and helping those around her, especially children. She faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher and was a former preschool teacher at Burks United Methodist Church, roles she cherished and took great pride in.

Dari also gave of her time to support the Boy Scouts, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. In her working life, she was a cook at McDonald's in Soddy-Daisy, where she was known for her reliability, kindness, and friendly presence to both coworkers and customers alike.

Above all, Dari was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her family meant everything to her, and she will be remembered for her gentle spirit, warm heart, and the love she so freely gave.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Simmons.

Those left to cherish her memory include her father, Monty Simmons; her beloved husband, Rick Selcer; her son, Trey Selcer; her brother, Charlie Simmons; her sister, Anne Simmons; along with many extended family members, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, with interment following in Levi Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
