Darian "Punkin" Lewis AKA DJ D Baby

On June 24, 1999 Darrin and Terri Lewis were blessed with a bouncing baby girl, whom they named Darian Brenae "Punkin" Lewis. She grew up in Houston and attended Parker Elementary, Pershing Middle School and in 2017 she graduated from Glenda Dawson High School.
The sweet and generous spirit of Darian aka Punkin (by family) was unwavering. Darian accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at The Church at Bethel's Family by Pastor Walter August.
She was honest about who she was and how she felt, especially with family whom she dearly loved.
Her relationship with her parents, brother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends was unique and special. She loved each one of them unconditionally! I don't think many knew about the level of love that existed in her.
She was success oriented, and passion driven which led to the two business ventures, D Baby Entertainment and Hookah Heroes.
Upon graduation from Dawson High School her requested graduation gift was DJ equipment. She already knew that she was going to be a DJ and landed her first gig soon after. Her Dad didn't always agree with her choices, but whenever she made a call to Daddy saying, "WILL YOU?", he requested a copy of her business plan prior to contribution. Her career started at Texas Southern University, where she worked as resident DJ and KTSU 90.9. She later evolved to Hip Hop Streets, Multiple Podcast, 60 DJ Awards, HTX Promo Awards, DJ of the Year, Mac Makeup DJ, Kendra Scott DJ, Brand Ambassador for Bassett Hair, and Quality Control DJ. She also appeared in articles such as Ebony Magazine, Voyage, and the Houston Chronicle. One of her shared spotlights was "In the Booth with D Baby" which allowed upcoming artist to showcase their talent. The list goes on and on. One can truly say that this beautiful young lady made her mark and left and impression that will never be forgotten.
Darian always said and knew she would one day be famous. She is now in the Shade Room. She lived, she loved, and she will surely be missed. We love you Punkin!!
Darian is proceeding in death by her Grand Parents: Odell Lewis and Wilma Faulkner.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her parents, Terri Lewis and Darrin (Rhonda) Lewis; her brothers, Chase Taylor, Chris Pouncy, Demetrius Buckner and Jakobi Buckner; her sisters, D'Arcyle Robinson, Brooke Dior Brooks, Tashara Eiland, Ashley Robinson, Demetria Demore and Jasmine Lavine; her grandparents: Doris Brown, Florence Taylor, Oscar and Linda Hagan; her aunts, Deborah Faulkner, Kimberly Faulkner-Sampson, Edwina Curlie Justus, Betty Jo Tillman and Evelyn LeBruce; her God-Sister, Sam Hutchinson; great aunts, Helen Murray and Wilma Perkins Surry; uncles, Vincent Washington, Tony Edmond, Damion Faulkner, David Webb and Earl Sampson and host a of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews loving relatives and friends.
