Darilyn Eisenhauer of Pearl River, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence. She was 87 years old.
Darilyn was born on October 20, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY, to Decker Coykendall and Doris Menard. In her professional life, Darilyn worked as a supervisor for Volvo North America in Rockleigh, NJ.
On October 21, 1989, she married Ed Eisenhauer, and together they shared a life rooted in love and mutual respect.
Darilyn returned to Pearl River three years ago, after spending more than 30 years in Nyack. Before her time in Nyack, she made Pearl River her home beginning in 1966.
Darilyn will be remembered most for her deep empathy, unwavering kindness, and profound love of nature. That love began during her childhood summers in Carthage, NY, and continued with fond memories in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She found joy in caring for wildlife, whether in her backyard in Nyack or at the family's summer home in the Poconos.
Above all, Darilyn was a devoted and selfless mother and grandmother. Her strength, generosity, and constant encouragement were a guiding light to her family. She was especially treasured by her grandchildren, who saw in her a source of positivity, wisdom, and unconditional love.
Darilyn is survived by her daughter, Donna Pitts, and her husband, Douglas; her beloved grandchildren, Brittany Pitts and Daniel Pitts; and her brother, Ed Guarini, and his wife, Susie.
She was predeceased by her parents, her stepfather Edward Guarini, her husband Ed Eisenhauer, brother Guy Guarini, her grandson Kyle Pitts, and her first husband George Zirk.
Her warmth, resilience, and grace will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Donations may be made to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Ln., New City, NY
