Joyce L. Browne of Pearl River, NY, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, at the age of 88.

Mrs. Browne dedicated her career to caring for others as a nurse at Nyack Hospital, where she served with compassion until her retirement in 2008. She was born on March 5, 1937, to Maurice deCharleroy and Margaret Brown. Joyce earned her nursing degree from Rockland Community College, a testament to her lifelong commitment to helping those in need.

Deeply rooted in her community, Joyce was a proud member of the South Spring Valley Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Tallman Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She will be remembered for her boundless love for her family, her treasured time with family and friends, and her selfless nature-always ready to lend a hand or offer comfort to others.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Sullivan (Willy), Karen Gibson, Michelle Smith (Greg), and Melissa Johnston (Ken). She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Joyce is predeceased by her son, William Helmke (2007), and her husband, Carl Browne (2013).
