Dariza "Da" Chan, 53, of Lowell, MA, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Though she endured a 17-year battle with cancer, Dariza met each day with strength, optimism, and love.

Born in Battambang, Cambodia, she was the beloved daughter of Leang Sek and the late Lo Chan.

Dariza dedicated much of her life to serving others. She worked in property management and elder services for most of her career, caring for the community and elderly with compassion and respect. She also worked for Legal Services and the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence, where she devoted her time to supporting vulnerable individuals and advocating for those in need.

A devout and active member of Wat Samaki Temple, Dariza lived her faith through kindness, generosity, and service. She gave countless hours to volunteering at the temple and throughout her community. She was known for her deep faith, kind spirit and her willingness to help others.

Beyond her work and service, Dariza found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved to enjoy a good cup of coffee, going for walks, long drives, and creating beautiful floral arrangements. She delighted in cooking, sharing meals, and exploring new foods. She also had a keen eye for fashion and loved shopping for the best deals, always finding joy in discovering little treasures. These hobbies brought her happiness and reflected her creative, thoughtful nature.

She is survived by her daughter, Sima Suon and daughter in-law Ashley Bettencourt of Lowell; her sister Mom Chan; her brothers David Chan, Tha Chan, and Ken Chan; her nephews Vinny Ngoc and Tony Chan, and her beloved grandchildren Anthony Ngoc, Connor Ngoc, Maia Chan and Tyson Chan.

Dariza will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. She leaves us with this final message: to live each day with kindness, decency, and respect for one another.
