Darla Jo Hambleton, 60, died May 23rd, 2025 at Medstar Washington Hospital Center at 11:02 in the morning.
Darla was born August 21st, 1964 to Thelma Winters (Minnick) and Harry Winters Sr. in Baltimore, MD. Darla grew up in Baltimore and later moved to Hagerstown, MD where she graduated from South Hagerstown Highschool in 1983. Darla grew up along side her siblings Harry Winters Jr., Debbie Winters, and Donna Parker (Winters). In 1978 she met her husband, Steve Hambleton Sr. at the Mummers Day Parade, a long time family tradition. Darla and Steve got married on September 21st, 1990. July 30th, 1992 she had her first son, Steve Allen Hambleton Jr. and then on December 21st, 1998 she had her second son, Jaxon Hambleton.
Darla is leaving behind many people who she loved and who love her. Her husband Steve Hambleton Sr., her two sons; Steve Allen Hambleton Jr., Jaxon Hambleton, her daughter in laws Destiny Hambleton and Dany Hambleton. She had many grandchildren including two dogs and cats that she treated like human children. All of her grandchildren were her entire world. Jaslynn Hambleton, Serenity Hambleton, Steve Allen Hambleton Ill, Selena Hambleton, her granddogs Braxton, Koda and grandcats Batty and Jack.
In death she's greeting her mom and dad, Thelma Winters (Minnick) and Harry Winters Sr., her sisters Debbie Winters and Judith Ann Winters, her husbands mom and dad; Hilda May Hambleton (Gay) and George Hambleton, a sister in law Jenny Winters, her brother in law Gerald Parker, her dogs and cat; Star, Butch, Pierre and Oreo.
Darla will be missed deeply by those who knew her. She never had a mean bone in her body and loved everyone. She was accepting of everyone, no matter who you were or what your history is. She was always dancing and singing. Her big heart will stay with us forever. Darla's services will be held on Wednesday May 28th, 2025 at 11am at Crossway Christian Fellowship of Hagerstown, 18501 Maugans Ave Suite 105, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
