Darlene Kaye Shupp (Miller), 71, Loving Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Aunt, Friend, and child of God – formerly of Clear Spring, MD and a resident of Williamsport, MD, walked into the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on September 12th, 2025. She was surrounded by many family members at the lovely, Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD. Born on Tuesday, October 13th, 1953, in Savannah, Georgia. She was the second born child and first daughter of the late, William Sydney and Jane (Ankeney) Shupp.
Darlene was a homemaker for much of her life while her four children grew up. Later in life, she began working at B&B Embroidery Company & was employed by them for over 10 years.
Darlene was known for her quick wit, which she got honestly. She loved the little things in life. Growing up at the river as a child (Dam #5) was some of her favorite childhood memories, passing that same tradition on to her four children. Darlene was an amazing artist in so many ways. There wasn’t too much she couldn’t do. She loved drawing and painting pictures, whether it be ceramics, or murals on the walls of her home. She loved to read & crochet as much as she could. Mom was known for her artistic talent in playing the organ (by ear), the accordion & also the harmonica. When her children were growing up, she enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, and other types of yard games. Before Darlene passed away, she made one request - To make sure that the world knew that she loved her children with all of her heart.
Darlene is survived by her four children – James (Bradley) Miller (Kathy) of Mercersburg, Stacey Uhler (Rick) of Lusby, Christopher Miller (Laura) of Mercersburg, Rebecca (Becky) Davis (Evan) of Big Pool. Two Sisters – Cathy Kline (Ron) of Fairplay, Kristi Miles (Greg) of Hagerstown. Eight grandchildren – Devin Uhler (Taylor) of Scottsville, Charity Miller (Jordan) of Mercersburg, Derek Uhler (Becca) of Japan, Morgan Fitz (Mason) of Hancock, Danica Uhler of Lusby, Isaac Fitz (Genesis) of Needmore, Matthew Miller of Mercersburg, Kasey Fitz of Big Pool. One Aunt – Jeanne Ankeney and several Nieces & Nephews, along with her beloved Cat, “Mindy Sue”. Upon her passing, Darlene was reunited with her oldest brother, William “Sid” Shupp, Jr. Both of her parents – William “Sid” Shupp, Sr. and Jane Shupp (Ankeney) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. What a glorious - Heavenly reunion that must have been!
