Darlas “Dee” Bascetta, devoted mother and wife, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025 at her home. She was 72 years old.
Born December 10, 1952 in Reading, Ohio, Dee spent her life caring for others, dedicating many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant before transitioning to private care. Her clients were not just people she cared for—they were family. She often went above and beyond, giving her time and love selflessly, even beyond her work hours, to ensure those she cared for were treated with the dignity and respect they deserved.
Outside of her professional life, Dee found great joy in the simple pleasures, especially deep-sea fishing with her husband, David. It was in these moments, on the open water, that she found peace and joy, sharing both laughter and quiet moments with the love of her life. Dee’s generosity and thoughtfulness knew no bounds. Whether it was a caring gesture, a warm meal, or simply being there when someone needed her, she made those around her feel seen, loved, and cared for. Her spirit was one of kindness, and her love for her family—whether near or far—was unconditional.
Dee is survived by her husband, David Bascetta, and her three daughters, Christine Bascetta, Maria Patterson (Bascetta) and Melinda Burch (Moore) who will miss her dearly, along with her many friends, clients, and all whose lives she touched through her selfless acts of care and compassion. Dee’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her—a legacy of love, kindness, and the quiet power of caring for others.
