Darlene Basden of Dallas, TX passed away at her residence, the Landon, on January 4, 2025, due to complications from her prolonged battle with Muscular Sclerosis (MS). Darlene was born on November 10, 1947, to Oscar and Mabel Hunt. She is survived by her twin sister; Arlene, husband, Ron Siler of Fort Worth, TX; her sister; Peggy, husband, Richard Heidt of Groveland, MA.; many nieces and nephews; a large extended family; and close friends from The Landon.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles "Ed" Hunt; sister, Madeline Reed.
Darlene was a child of the 50's and 60's, where she enjoyed the simple pleasures of riding bikes and staying out until the streetlights came on. After graduation from H. Grady Spruce High School, she worked for Bell Telephone Company, remaining with them until retirement. She was married for 33 years and lived in Austin, TX before returning to her hometown of Dallas. She traveled all over the world and was an avid reader. While she had no children, Darlene had many nieces and nephews who simply adored her. She loved her dog, Toby; her family; and Mexican food topped off with a margarita.
Darlene will be remembered for her Christian faith, her strength of spirit, and her positive attitude; never complaining about the challenging medical issues she faced throughout her life, resilient to the end.
