My 12 year teaching career at JEHS overlapped with Darlene's final 12 years at the school. Marvelous woman, respected by all, a positive influence on so many. She was regal - with no hubris.

I am so sorry to hear about Darlene. I just got all my Santas out that she made many years ago and thought about her. She was a neighbor to my parents on Lake DuBay. She, Keith and my parents had many adventures through the years. She will be enjoying Christmas with all of them this year.

One of my favorite teachers. She was a great art teacher. She pushed you to try new things. But more than anything, she was there to listen and never judged. Took art every year I was at Port because of her. I posted a picture of my "non-ashtrays" & bowls I made.
