Darlene Anne Dillemuth, age 96, of Owatonna, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, with her family by her side.
Darlene was born on May 5, 1929, in Waterville, Minnesota, to Theodore and Lenore (Fraser) Bohlen. She graduated from Waterville High School in 1947 and soon after moved to Owatonna, where she married Kenneth Dillemuth in 1952. Together they welcomed two children, Diane and Kevin. Darlene and Kenneth later divorced.
Darlene was employed as a talented seamstress, where her craftsmanship and attention to detail were greatly valued. Darlene also worked at Jostens for many years. Following her retirement, Darlene embraced her love of travel and adventure-driving with her two cats each winter to southern Texas, where she spent 30 joyful seasons among friends and sunshine.
Darlene lived life to the fullest, always eager to host gatherings, share laughter, and make lasting memories. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Darlene was known for hosting a Mexican Fiesta party each summer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Lenore Bohlen, and her brothers, Donald and Robert Bohlen.
Darlene is survived by her children, Diane (Floyd) Kitzmann of Zumbrota, Minnesota and Kevin Dillemuth of Owatonna; grandchildren, Matthew (Sheila) Kitzmann of Rochester, Minnesota, Rebecca (Justin) Mathre of Rochester, Shelby (Christopher) Smith of Alexandria, Virginia, Sara Dillemuth of Owatonna, and Abbey (Tyler) Brase of Owatonna; and great-grandchildren-Olivia, William, Hattie, Ava, Silja, Rian, Lucas, Kade, Briar, and Parker.
Darlene will be remembered for her warm heart, vibrant spirit, and unwavering love for her family.
A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 12 - 3 p.m. at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Rd, Owatonna.
