Uxbridge - Darlene G. LaChance, 69, of Boston St. passed away peacefully on Saturday July 20, 2024 at UMass Hospital, University Campus, suddenly, after being stricken ill.
She is survived by her lifelong partner Louis Lopez; her daughter Sherrylee and her husband Norman Burke III of N. Uxbridge; three sons Hector "Juney " LaChance and his wife Charlene of Troy, NH, Louis LaChance of Winchendon, and Ricky LaChance and his wife Christine of Uxbridge; six grandchildren Erin LaChance, Craig LaChance, Kaya Burke, Arya Burke, Louis LaChance Jr., and Ricky LaChance Jr.; a sister Dolores Valez of Natick; three brothers John Ramos and James Ramos both of Grafton, and Antonio Ramos of Framingham; and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Frederick LaChance and Jamie Ramos.
Born in Natick on July 20, 1955, Darlene was the daughter of Frederick and Alix (Choate) LaChance and lived in Uxbridge the past ten years. Previously she lived in Marlborough many years.
Primarily a homemaker, raising her children and caring for her family, Mrs. LaChance was the General Manager at the Pleasant Street General Store in Marlborough. She was educated in the Natick public school system and Natick High School. Her greatest accomplishment however was her children. She doted on her family. Many times she hosted sleep overs with her grandchildren. She was a great conversationalist, very easy to talk to, and was always grateful, appreciative, and sweet. Always welcoming, her home was very special to her. She'd often sit outside in her gazebo, enjoying nature and her creatively decorated place. It was her happy place. A crafty person, Darlene made wreaths for the holidays and enjoyed knitting. She was interested in archiving her family history and passed it along to the next generations. She will be remembered as a spiritual, wholesome, happy, family person dedicated to family.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday August 3rd at 6 pm in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. Uxbridge. Calling hours will be held prior to her service on Saturday August 3 from 4 to 6 pm. Memorial contributions in Darlene's memory may be made to the Uxbridge Senior Center, 36 South Main St. Uxbridge MA, 01516.
