Obituary For Darlene Ellen Maynard

Darlene Ellen (Davis) Maynard, age 82 of McBain, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Corewell Health-Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. Darlene was born on July 14, 1943 in Flint, Michigan to Walter and Dorothy (Fraker) Davis. Darlene married Irving Leslie Maynard on July 29, 1961 in Marion, Michigan. He proceeded her in death on April 12, 2012.

Darlene loved most crafts; she taught beadwork at Ben Franklin in Cadillac and Ericksons Crafts in Traverse City; along with creating/teaching how to make greeting cards at the Cadillac senior center for over 12 years. She owned and operated Darlene's Embroidering for 4 years. Darlene also worked at the PBS Party Store, Ace Hardware, Rexair of Cadillac, Kelsey Hayes in Brighton, MI, and Syntech in Traverse City.

Darlene is survived by her sons; Kenneth (Julieta) Maynard and Edward Maynard, two grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a sibling; Dianne (Gene) Holm.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Irving, sisters; Doris Sizemore and Delores Davis, brothers; Thomas Davis and George Davis, and special stepfather William Bell.

A celebration of life will be held with a hotdog roast on September 6, 2025 at the Richland Township Hall in Lucas from Noon to 8:00 PM.
