Darlene Ann Montague, 90, of Dixon, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at her home.
Darlene was born on October 18, 1934, in Walton, IL, the daughter of Everett and Hazel (Hand) Duffy. She married Donald Montague on October 27, 1957, at the First Presbyterian Church in Dixon. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2018.
Darlene was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dixon. She was passionate about her beautiful flower garden and her hostas. For many years, she pursued her love of crafting and founded several craft sales throughout the Dixon area. Her additional pastimes included enjoying a good book and following golf. She had a gift for bringing joy and laughter to those who knew her and welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the heart of her family, and her legacy of love and affection will live on.
Darlene is survived by three sons, Dan (Angie) Montague, Doug (Michelle) Montague, David Montague; daughter, Debra Barth; brother, David (Rena) Duffy; brother-in-law, Jim Hillison; sister-in-law, Kay Duffy; seven grandchildren, Justin Hosford, Dawnn Marie (Trent) Petersen, Dalton Hosford, Alex (Troy) Douglas, Michael (Rachel) Barth, Brandi Hosford, Derek Montague; and two great-granddaughters, Eleanor and Juliet Petersen.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; father, Everett Duffy; mother, Hazel Duffy (Noble); step-father, Byron Noble; brother, John Duffy; sister, Marilyn Hillison; and son-in-law, Jerry Barth.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church in Dixon. The Funeral Service will be the following day at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church in Dixon, with Rev. Cheyanna Losey, officiating. Burial will be to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in Dixon and/or the Leydig Center in Dixon.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
