Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Aunt, and Friend, Darlene LaVonne Puleo, 88, passed over to our Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 19th, 2025. Darlene was born to Fred and Estella Tucker on June 25, 1936, in Big Timber, Montana.
After attending high school in Big Timber, Darlene pursued her Associate's Degree from Lee College (now Lee University) in Cleveland, Tennessee. Following her graduation, Darlene moved to Denver, Colorado to pursue her career, where she met her husband, Salvatore Puleo. Darlene's lengthy career spanned both private construction firms and public service Uniformed Services, the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, and the Federal Highways Administration.
Throughout her life, family was incredibly important to Darlene. Following her retirement, Darlene threw herself into helping raise her grandchildren. Darlene spent countless hours caring for her grandchildren, volunteering at their schools, attending every important event, and continually finding ways to ensure her family felt loved.
Darlene loved traveling and had the opportunity to travel the world with her family. Due to Salvatore's military assignments, Darlene lived in Australia and the Philippines. As she retired, Darlene was able to travel with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren all around the world including Italy, Japan, China, and Germany. Her favorite place to travel, however, was always Hawaii. Darlene, who was never one for funerals, wishes to spend eternity in her favorite place, so her ashes will be spread in Hawaii at a later date.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Vernon Tucker, F. Wesley Tucker, and Raymond Tucker; sisters Lillian Chamberlain and Evelyn Arnold.
Darlene is survived by her Husband Salvatore, Daughter Pamela Puleo-Aitken, Son-in-Law Michael Aitken, grandchildren Spencer Aitken and Cooper Aitken, and granddaughter-in-law Kailee Aitken, all of Aurora, CO. Darlene is also survived by brother, Al Tucker (Judy) of Billings; sister: Jean McDaniel of Westminster, Colorado, and many nieces, nephews, great & great-great nieces and nephews who she loved dearly throughout her life.
