Darlene Shepard Obituary

Darlene June Shepard, 92, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 11:55 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born on May 29, 1930, in Cardington, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clyde O. and Estella Pearl (Wallace) Patterson.
On April 9, 1949, Darlene married Francis John Galyk, and he was killed in a plant accident on November 26, 1962. On January 5, 1972, she married Frank W. Shepard in Las Vegas, Nevada and he preceded her in death on November 20, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Marker; son, James Galyk; stepson, Russ Shepard, a son-in-law, Chet Marker; a granddaughter, Angela (Galyk) Lloyd; three sisters, Mary, Leona, and Aldene; and two brothers, Harold, and Everett.
Darlene is survived by her three sons, David (Linda) Galyk of Ottoville, Frank (Marianne) Galyk of Ridgeway, and Steve (Linda) Galyk of Bellefontaine; two daughters-in-law, Mary Galyk of Continental, and Linda Shepard of Bellefontaine; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A member of the Rushsylvania United Methodist Church, Darlene had owned the former Country Kitchen in Mt. Victory and Franks Shell in Rushsylvania. She enjoyed her flowers, going to casinos, putting puzzles together, NASCAR, and most of all spending time with her family.
A private graveside service will be held in Rushsylvania Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
