Darlene M. Tomikel

Darlene M. Tomikel, 61, of Carnegie, died on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Darlene was born on October 8, 1964 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Carl and the late Lois Morton Prince.

Darlene was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. She could be found twirling her Terrible Towel while cheering on the Steelers on any given Sunday or supporting the Penguins, and Pirates through their seasons, as well. She was no fair-weather fan, she supported them all, no matter what.

Darlene loved to go camping with her husband in Bear Run. You could find her setting up the very tent that would be their home away from home for the week, glamping was not in her vocabulary. There was something about being out in nature that connected with Darlene's soul.

Music, game, and puzzles were other loves of Darlene's. There was always a song that reminded her of an experience with her family and friends. When she heard that perfect song Darlene would compile it into her playlist and the next time she was around a jukebox, those songs were always the first to be played. She could also always seem to beat any game show contestant at their own game by figuring out the puzzle, catchphrase, solution, etc. in what seemed like lightning speed.

Surviving is her loving husband of nearly 40 years, Eric Tomikel, children, Bryan M. Tomikel and Melissa (Chad) Rocheleau, brothers, Mark (Ted Matthews) Prince, Gary Prince, and Brad (Samantha Webber) Prince, and granddaughter, Emma Charlier.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Elly's on April 4th, 2026. The service will be held from 1-4pm. Elly's is located at 1201 Washington Ave, Carnegie, PA 15106.
