Darlene Joan Wilson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, went home to be with her Savior on November 5, 2025, at the age of 83.

Born on March 31, 1942, in Denver Colorado to Maxine and Earl Auten, Darlene lived a life filled with love, kindness, perseverance, and devotion to both her family and her faith. A lifelong learner, she returned to college at the age of 40 as a non-traditional student, earning her bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Wyoming — an accomplishment that reflected her determination, intelligence, and love of learning.

She went on to share that passion through her long career as an elementary school teacher with the Natrona County School District, retiring in 2005. Darlene touched countless young lives with her patience, creativity, and genuine care for her students, leaving a legacy of learning and compassion that will endure for generations.

Darlene married the love of her life, Stark Wilson on August 20 1960, and together they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage — a bond grounded in faith, laughter, and unconditional love. She was the proud mother of Joan Garcia (Robert), Mark Wilson, Susanne Ridley (Aaron), Jonathan Wilson (Kathleen), and Rebekah Lembke (Ron), and a devoted grandmother to Alisa Kenyon, Jennifer Ferris, Connor Walsh, Logan Walsh, Nicholas Wilson, and Ronan Wilson.

A woman of many talents, Darlene had a deep love for music and found great joy playing the piano, often filling her home with hymns and melodies that reflected her faith. She also enjoyed traveling and exploring God’s creation, always eager to learn and experience new things. Above all, she found her greatest joy in being a mother and grandmother, cherishing the blessings of her family every day.

Darlene’s life was a testament to grace, love, and steadfast faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her family takes comfort knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord.

A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Central Wyoming Hospice Center in her memory.
