Darlene Mary Wozney, 83, of Onalaska and formerly of Arcadia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 6, 2024.
Darlene was born in Arcadia on May 24, 1941, to Phillip and Victoria (Bautch) Kupietz. After graduating from Arcadia High School, she was united in marriage to Bernard Wozney on April 15, 1961, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church where she also served with the PCCW and was a dutiful member of the Rosary Society. Darlene demonstrated a lifetime of unwavering devotion to her faith, exhibited by her selfless and giving nature, despite the tragedies she endured. She volunteered at church, hospitals and nursing homes, and was an affiliate with the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. In her spare time, Darlene enjoyed walking, reading and completing puzzles.
Darlene is survived by her son: Michael (Stacey) Wozney of Galesville; daughters: Lynn (Todd) Geary of Holmen, Nancy (John Boyle) Slaby of Rochester, and Sara (Charles) Kamrowski of River Falls; grandchildren: Jenna (Andrew), Jessica, Jacey Jane, Jamie, Sam (Tanna), Kelsey, Chris, Corey, Jenny (Jake), Chance, Chayton, Chyncia, and Chase; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters: Donna Glowcheski of Onalaska and Diane Giebel of Broken Arrow, OK; sister-in-law: Diane Kiehl of Madison; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Bernard; daughter: Jill Wozney; grandsons: Cody Wozney and Eldon Kamrowski; brother: George Kiehl; and other relatives.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Holy Family Parish with Monsignor Steve Kachel and Father Tim Riether co-officiating. Family and friends are welcome for visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, Arcadia, prior to the procession to mass on Thursday.
