Darlene I. Wubben, 88, of Platteville, Wisconsin, formerly of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Hazel Green, with Rev. Thomas Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City. A second visitation will take place on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
Darlene was born on December 7, 1936, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, on the family farm. She was the daughter of Maurice and Marcella (Klaas) Wills. She graduated from Hazel Green High School. On November 17, 1956, she was united in marriage to LaVerne C. Wubben at St. Francis de Sales Church in Hazel Green. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2006.
After raising their family of seven children, Darlene worked at the Coach-n-Four, Fendall, and Advance Transformer. She later went back to school to earn her CNA certification and worked for 19 years at the Cuba City Nursing Home. Darlene deeply enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities, especially sporting events. She was incredibly proud of her family and all of their accomplishments.
Surviving are her children: Marcia (Lee) Cochran of Winchester, Virginia; Wanda (Ron) Ware of Platteville; Mike (Margaret) Wubben of Marinette; Sharon (Bruce) Greener of McGregor, Iowa; Connie (Harold) Rihn of Mineral Point; Greg (Kris) Wubben of Fennimore; and Deb (Rich) Christensen of Kaukauna. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth “Betsy” Wubben of Platteville and Phyllis Wubben of State Center, Iowa, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne Wubben; her parents, Maurice and Marcella Wills; a great-granddaughter, Vivienne Cochran; her brothers, Virgil (Catherine), Joseph (Darlene), and Donald (Sandy) Wills; and her sister, Dorothy (Robert) Stafford.
Memorials may be sent in Darlene’s name to Casey-McNett Funeral Home, 123 N Jackson St, Cuba City, WI 53807.
