Trevor J. Cherry, 47, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Benton and Hazel Green, Wisconsin, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 27, 2026, at home. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3-7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, Wisconsin. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, Iowa.
Trevor was born on October 7, 1978, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of John “Jay” Cherry and Karen (Holz) Wills. He graduated from Southwestern High School in 1997 and earned his Emergency Medical Technician license from Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Trevor worked at Disneyland as a costumed character, was a flight attendant, and found his passion in the medical field as a technician, infusion therapist, and ER paramedic at Broward County Hospital- his favorite role. He also enjoyed Native American dancing , especially with his friend, Butch Hammel. Trevor always had a smile on his face and wore his heart on his sleeve. He will be remembered by family and friends as a positive, kind and sensitive soul.
Survivors include his parents, Karen (Ricky) Wills, Benton, WI and Jay (Pat) Cherry, Maquoketa, IA; three siblings, Jordanna (Jason) McCartney, Platteville, WI, Adam Wills, Benton, WI, and Nichole (Michelle Eiler) Leibold, Monmoth, IL; a sister-in-law, Debbie Leibold, Maquoketa, IA; and nieces and nephews, Jada McCartney, Luke and Noah Eiler, and Kailyn Leibold.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Brett Leibold; and two uncles, Tony Holz and Jeff Holz.
