Minerva "Minnie" Hernandez, born on January 25, 1957, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, passed away on February 26, 2026, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was a beacon of light and warmth, known for her cheerful spirit and unwavering friendliness, which made her a ray of sunshine wherever she went. Minnie's generous heart and willingness to help those around her left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

A devoted professional, Minnie built a remarkable career on Wall Street, working with prestigious organizations such as Security Specific, Mabon Nugent, Credit Suisse and HSBC. Her contributions extended beyond the financial sector, as she also served the Florida Court Systems, leaving a legacy of dedication and integrity. One of her proudest moments was hiring her son, Anthony, to work alongside her during a summer on Wall Street, where he learned the invaluable lessons of professionalism under her guidance.

In her personal life, Minnie's zest for living was contagious. She delighted in festivities, often organizing gatherings with family and friends where laughter flowed as freely as the drinks. Minnie had a special fondness for dining out at her favorite restaurants, happily rating dishes alongside her husband, indulging in her love for Mexican cuisine, and enjoying shots of tequila. Her adventurous spirit was evident in her passion for cruising and participating in Marathons.

Minnie cherished her family bonds, often making the most whimsical gestures to celebrate her loved ones. She displayed her affection in charming ways, such as printing pictures of her beloved "fur grandkids" on her luggage and creating custom pillows adorned with family photos. Memories of her joyful trips to Bingo and Lotteria with her older sister Haydee will forever resonate in the hearts of her loved ones, each moment reflecting the warmth and laughter that Minnie inspired. Family was at the core of Minnie's existence. Her pride and joy, Anthony, was the light of her life, and she never hesitated to share her love and affection for him to anyone willing to listen. With many fond memories of attending church with Anthony on Sundays, participating in the Spanish Sermon, a time that brought them closer together in faith and love.

Minnie leaves behind a close-knit family who adored her, including her loving husband, Jose; their son, Anthony; and her sisters, Rosa, Carmen, and Haydee, as well as her brothers, Victor, David, and Carlos. She is welcomed into eternal rest alongside her dear sisters, Antonia and Ismenia. Jose, her devoted husband, will forever cherish their time together, creating memories filled with laughter and love.

As friends and family prepare to honor Minnie's memory, visitation and prayers will be held on March 5, 2026, at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home in Plantation, Florida.
