Darrel Richard Shadbolt passed away in Salem, Oregon on January 25, 2026 into the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour. Darrel was born on May 12, 1953 to Milo and Annie.
As a young man he moved to Roseburg, Oregon where he attended Garden Valley Christian Assembly. It was there that he met Sue Berry. They married in 1977 and had two beautiful and kind daughters, Kellee and Kristi. Darrel loved hunting with a bow and was a very good marksman (most of the time). He also enjoyed fishing and shooting his gun. He was a man of many stories. If one didn’t know better, some of those stories could be believable. While married, Darrel’s main occupation was a welder. Darrel and Sue divorced in 1988, but remained friends. He later became a long-haul truck driver, a job that he loved!
Darrel’s health declined, and he became a resident at Everbloom Memory Care. He easily made many friends and became a favorite of caregivers there.
Darrel is survived by his former wife, Sue, daughters Kellee Shadbolt and Kristi Bascom (Adam), three grandsons (Jose, Miguel, Finn), two granddaughters (Adriana, Elsie) three great-grandsons (Jayden, Josiah, Adonis), his brother George, and many extended family members. Darrel is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Jim.
