Darrell Anderson Obituary

Darrell Fank Anderson, age 90, left this world on August 3, 2025, at home. Born on July 8, 1935, to Charles and Marguerite (Bergdoll) Anderson in Muncie, Frank lived in Randolph County most of his life. Frank was only 13 years old when he lost his mother. He was 24 years old when his father passed.
Frank met his wife, Jacquelyn (Jackie) Sue Gaylor at the Winchester Mardi Gra when he was 16 years old. They were married almost 63 years before Jackie passed in 2024.
He grew up on a farm in a large family with five siblings. He valued hard work. His first job was for Clark's Dairy delivering milk around Winchester in the early morning hours. He later became a mold maker at Overmyer Mold. Frank and Jackie moved to their farm outside of Winchester in 1967, which is where he raised his family. He became a full-time livestock and grain farmer in 1974, and worked closely with his brothers, DuWayne and Rex (Shorty) and his nephews. Harvesting, hay making, and planting were always a family affair for the Anderson brothers with the moving of equipment, trips to the elevator, and coordinating amongst Jackie and sisters-in-law, Kathy and Judy Anderson, for meals to the fields. It was a good life.
During the last years of Frank's life, he shared many stories about riding ponies with friends as a youngster, his days in the National Guard, and being a "guinea pig" for penicillin after a farming accident when he was 11 years old. Frank fully recovered from the accident except for a partial amputation of one finger. He told jokes about that finger until his death, 79 years later.
Survivors include his daughters, Donna (Gerry) Keesling and Darinda (Randy) Wells; daughter-in-law, Debbie Anderson; grandchildren, Darah (Deiter) Luedike, Drew Anderson and Jessi, Devin (Jessica) Anderson, Michael (Emily) Keesling, Grant Keesling, Brendan (Dana) Laudenbacher, Michaela (Donald) Friend, and Spencer (Hannah) Densmore; great-grandchildren, Denae, Derek, and Damon Anderson, Addy and Brody Keesling, Anderson, Malia, and Calvin Friend, and Finley Laudenbacher; great-great granddaughter, Alayna Driskell; brothers, Bill Anderson, and Dana (Buck) Anderson; special friends Roger and Joyce Hammers; numerous family and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife and firstborn, Douglas Kent Anderson, his parents, and siblings DuWayne Anderson, Shorty Anderson, and Diana Kay (Anderson) Stover. A private burial will be held later as Frank requested. He will be greatly missed.
