Darrell L. Baehre

Darrell L. Baehre, age 72, of Gowen, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 23, 2026.

Darrell was born on September 25, 1953, the son of Walter Baehre and Nathalie VanOost. He was a graduate of Sparta High School. Darrell retired from Meijer, Inc. and also served for many years as a corrections officer with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Darrell had a deep love for football, hunting, and fishing. He especially cherished time spent with family at Little Whitefish Lake and enjoyed day trips to Pine Lake in Dublin, which brought him great joy.

He is survived by his mother, Nathalie VanOost; his daughters, Angela Verduin, Melissa Stachowiak, and Heather Baehre; his brother, Ted Baehre; his sister, Jill Warner; and his stepsiblings, Lois Sweet, Carol Train, Kay and Roger Coalter, and Luann and Mike Earle. Darrell is also survived by his grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Baehre; his stepmother, Gloria Baehre; his stepfather, Adrian VanOost; sister-in-law, Kathy Baehre.

A service will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs with viewing beginning at 12:00 pm. A prayer service will be officiated by Roger Coalter. Interment Pierson Cemetery.
