Marilyn Trofast Baehre, 90, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 passing at her home in Carrizo Springs. Marilyn was born September 5, 1934 in Kent City, Michigan to Zina S. and Arthur Trofast. Marilyn graduated valedictorian of her high school class, and attended Central Michigan University. She was an avid reader and loved to dance.
On November 7, 1954 she married Gordon Russell Baehre and they celebrated 50 happy years of marriage. She worked side by side with her husband Gordon in their life long career in the automotive business. They owned Bear Motor Sales, the local franchised GM dealer, in Carrizo Springs, and Bear's Tejano Country. Marilyn and Gordon were well known for their involvement in the community.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Brad Curry of Canyon Lake, Texas, and son and daughter-in law, Russell and Denise Baehre of Kerrville, Texas. Six grandchildren, Anna Lisa Lane, Andrew (Leigh) Curry, Dana (Clay) Moore, Sara Curry, and Grant (Amanda) Baehre and Conor (Julia) Baehre and great grandchildren, Haven, Piper, Teagan, Mathew, Hannah, Cameron, Kara, & Cierra. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon in 2006, and her sister Barbara Vogel. A special thank you goes to long time caregivers and helper, Lusia Bravo Loera, Lucy Byrom, and Armando Bravo. Pall bearers will be Andrew Curry, Clay Moore, Grant Baehre, Conor Baehre, Orlando Rodriguez, and Armando Bravo.
Visitation will be at Leonard Funeral Home in Carrizo Springs from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 with private family graveside services to follow in Kerrville, Texas. Memorials may be made to Carrizo Springs Public Library or the charity of one's choice.
