Darrell Lex Baird

DARRELL L. BAIRD, 89 SALINA, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at his home in Salina. He was born October 18, 1921 in Hunter, KS. He was a self-employed retired barber for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; George A and Edna M Baird, brothers, Harold Baird, Lyle Baird and Chad Baird and a sister; Arlene Williams. Survivors include his sons; Rodney Baird of Bishbee AZ., Ronald Baird of McPherson, and Jeffrey Baird of Solomon, daughter; Becky Roe of McPherson and long time companion; Carolina Fair of Salina, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, Friday, May 6, 2011 at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina, where family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 7, 2011, at the chapel, followed by burial in Hunter Cemetery, Hunter, KS. at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, family is requesting memorials be made to the VFW Post #1432, 1408 W Crawford, Salina, KS. 67401 or in care of Roselawn.
