Darrell "Pott" Broussard

Darrell "Pott" Broussard was born October 8, 1952, in Opelousas, Louisiana to the late Wilford and Augustine Sampa Broussard. Darrell was a resident of Lake Charles for most of his life and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. After graduating from Washington High School in 1971, he married the late Vickie Broussard on July 27, 1974, and to this union three beautiful children were born.
Before retiring on October 31, 2013, Darrell was an employee of Coca Cola Bottling company for 37 years. Darrell enjoyed throwing horseshoes, crabbing, and entertaining his grandchildren. He was often the center of their attention and questioned about who his favorite child and grandchild was. Darrell's last days were spent keeping everyone up to date on the gossip, watching his favorite Westerns, and visiting with his brothers.
Darrell was called to his heavenly home on February 21, 2024, at the age of 71. He departed his earthly life at home surrounded by his children.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, Wilford and Augustine Sampa Broussard; wife, Vickie Broussard; sisters, Gustavia Edwards, Geraldine Doucet, Betty Chavis, and Joyce Simien; brothers, Obrey Broussard and John Wilfred Broussard.
He leaves to cherish his memories his three children, Nikki (Roderick) Guillory, Quincy (Bethany) Broussard, and Sparkle Broussard; brothers, Joseph (Alice), Gerald (Andretta), Donald, and Ronald Broussard; grandchildren, Chris, Ta'lar, Cyd-ne, Rawlin, Madisyn, Landyn, Ry'n, J'Dyn, Kamryn, and Ty'la; great grandchildren, Zaidyn, Tristan, Karter, Ja'Loni, and Roysten; godchildren, Murphy Andrus, Latarra Declouiet Ballard, James Deblanc, Dionysha Fenner, and Matthew Curtis; along with a host of family, friends, nieces, and nephews.
His visitation will be Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 8:30AM to 10:30AM, with his rosary starting at 9AM, at James Funeral Home located at 1801 Moeling Street in Lake Charles. His funeral will follow at 11AM, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church located at 2031 E. Opelousas Street in Lake Charles. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of James Funeral Home.
