Darrell "Dewayne" Campbell, 59, of Etowah, gained his heavenly wings on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee with his family by his side.

He was born on April 23, 1966, in LaFollette, Tennessee to the late James and Carol Ayers Campbell, Sr.

Dewayne attended Fairview Baptist Church in Reliance, Tennessee. He was a member and a Sunday School teacher at Valley Brook Church of God in Dalton, Georgia where he impacted many children's lives in a positive way. He had an unforgettable personality, you always knew where he stood with you and loved to cut up with everyone. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, always trying to catch a bigger fish than his brother-in-law, Tim.

In addition to his parents James and Carol Ayers Campbell, Sr., he is preceded in death by his loving wife, of 33 years, Sharon Shoemaker Campbell; son, Tommy "Bubba" Dewayne Campbell; nephew, Joshua Campbell; maternal and paternal grandparents.

Left to cherish the many memories include his beloved son, Jonathan Campbell; brother, James (Beth) Campbell, Jr.; sister, Becki (Tim) Hardin; special niece, JoElla Campbell Scott; special friends, Marie (Tom) Gallman and Rachel (Chris) Hardin. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and a host of friends at Fairview Baptist Church also survive.

A memorial service will be held at Fairview Baptist Church at a later date.

The family would like to thank the palliative care at Parkwest Hospital for their support, love and kindness during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for contributions to be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.HigginsFuneral.com.
