March 19, 1939 until April 15, 2025

Darrell Gene Carpenter of Rogers, Age 86, passed away on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025. He was born on Sunday, March 19th, 1939 in Biscoe, Arkansas to Marvin and Floy Carpenter (Gross).
Darrell grew up in Biscoe, but moved to De Valls Bluff, Arkansas to attend and graduate from De Valls Bluff High School. Afterward, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served for about 4 years. He later moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, during which he was set up on a blind date with a Ms. Cathi Ford, through a mutual acquaintance, and went on to marry her five months later on Saturday, March 9th, 1963. They moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas where he attended the University of Arkansas and received a degree in business. After a move to Texas, he eventually settled down in Northwest Arkansas where he worked as a salesman for the NFIB.
Darrell loved history, politics, sports and athletics (especially the Arkansas Razorbacks), and was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Floy; and one brother, Charles Carpenter.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 62 years, Cathi Carpenter; two daughters, Laura Peek (Jim) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Camille Pinkerton (Brandon) of Rogers, Arkansas; two sisters, Janice Price (Glynn) of Panama City, Florida, and Shirley Kingrey of North Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Allison Laube (Sean), Audrey Wilkins, Zach Pinkerton, Rachel Pinkerton, and Kate Pinkerton; and one great-granddaughter, Sage Laube.
A Funeral Service will be held at Fellowship Bible Church of Fayetteville, Arkansas on Monday, April 21st, 2025 at 1:00p.m. followed by a Graveside Service at Fairview Memorial Gardens, also in Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Fellowship Bible Church in his honor.
